Katharine Houghton Hepburn came from a New England upper class background and it showed in her acting . Her early and middle years certainly displayed an on screen attitude which made her highly spankable . Spanking a bright , high spirited person presents a particularly intriguing challenge . Lombardo and Mulgrew address Hepburn's relationships with her parents and with men she was linked to romantically , particularly Spencer Tracy .
